Search from the home hero

How the hero search pairs cities, cuisines, and localities before you open Discover.

One box, layered intent

The home hero search is the fastest path from landing to meaningful results. Pick a country from the navbar if needed, then type a city, neighbourhood, or cuisine. Suggestions combine geography from our catalogue with cuisines hosts advertise so you do not have to guess spelling for every locality.

What happens on submit

A strong query navigates to Discover with chips filled in—city, optional locality, optional cuisine—so you start in filter context instead of an empty grid. Weak or empty queries still take you to Discover; refine there.

Tips

  • Prefer suggestions when they appear—they encode valid IDs and reduce “no results” dead ends.
  • Combine city + cuisine when you know both; either alone can be noisy in large metros.
